Pinterest Crock Pot Reviews

Recently we tried some crock pot recipes that I’ve seen all over Pinterest. Out of the three only one was good enough to try again with modifications.
Orange chicken – This didn’t task like orange chicken I know of. My family did not like this one. Just putting some ingredients into a pot isn’t always a good thing. This was missing so much and did not have anything I would relate it to Orange Chicken.
French onion chicken – This was a very big disappointment. With the ingredients for this I thought it would be like a French onion chicken dish. Nope this was not even close. When mixing the onion soup and sour cream it just tasted like cream of soup which did not taste very well. We ended up eating frozen pizza that night.
Sweet and sour chicken – This was a good recipe and this recipes taste was very close to what I thought it should be. The only changes I am going to make is to add more sweet and sour sauce and another can of pineapples. This one we will be having again.

PWM Week of July 24th – 30th

This is my layout for this week.  I am using a kit from Love your planner on Etsy.  The boxes didn’t fit the way I would like them too, but this is still a very cute kit.

Weekly Meals

I’m putting this list out a little late but I wanted to show what we are having for dinner this week. I will update any recipes that are not added to Main Dishes by the end of this week.

Sunday – Arroz con Pollo My family requested this again so I made it again.
Monday – Chicken tender with Broccoli salad
Tuesday – Spaghetti
Wednesday – L. O. (left overs)
Thursday – Stuffed peppers
Friday – Burger with home-made fries
Saturday – T-bones

Etsy Haul

These are new shops to me on Etsy that I had to

This shop was having a sale so I figured I try them out.  @Karolinas Krafts on Etsy has some really cut functional stickers (as you see below).  I just couldn’t pass them up.

This shop is @Fuuunlab.Etsy.com.  I fell in love with her sticker and had to try her shop out.   For the planner girl I was able to choose the color of her hair.  I thought that was so awesome.

Easy Week Night Dinner

Hard shell taco’s is a very quick and easy dinner to put together.  The hardest thing would be cooking the meat.  It is versatile so what ever meat preference you like, toppings you like just make it your own.  This meal takes about 30 maybe less to put together.  The ground beef can be cook ahead of time so that is another time saver.  So please check this easy pesy recipe out.

 

Hard Shell Taco’s

Ingredients;

Taco shells

2 or 3 packages of taco seasoning ( I only use McCormick)

Water (follow taco seasoning package directions)

2 or 3 lbs ground beef

 

Toppings: (whatever you like)

Tomatoes

Salsa

Lettuce

Sour cream

Steps:

In a medium size pan cook the ground beef at a medium high heat.   While stirring meat break up any big pieces you may find. Cook ground beef until no longer pink.

Drain all the fat from the ground beef and place the meat back into the same pan.

Add in the seasoning packs along with the water per the directions on the taco seasoning package.

Stir the seasoning until well mixed into meat and cook ground beef for about 15 to 20 minutes to ensure all flavors are incorporated.

Serve in taco shell and any topping you like.

Note: you can also just put this on top of come corn chips and have nachos

 

The Apple

Apples have been apart of our daily diets even back in the Garden of Eden.

Going back in time, the old saying of “an apple a day will keep the doctor away” wasn’t the original wording. This wording was first used back in 1922. The original words were “Eat an apple on going to bed, and you’ll keep the doctor from earning his bread.” This was recorded back in 1860 in Wales so eating apples daily will keep the doctor at bay.

There are so many healthy benefits from eating apples that we really should consider eating them on a daily basis.

Here are some health benefits from an apple.

Just the skin alone is a great source of vitamin C and copper.

The phytonutrients in apples are good for your blood sugars. Quercetin, which is also found in apples, can inhibit enzymes that are involved in the breakdown of carbohydrates, which then turns into simple sugar.

These are the vitamins that are in one apple. How amazing is the apple.

Apples also have several minerals that are good for our daily diets.

Fiber

There are so many verities of apples to choose from. My favorite apple is the Golden Delicious apple. For me this has the right amount of sweetness that I like.

Apples can be canned, juiced and turned into butter. They are most popular in deserts but can also be found used in savory dishes like pork.

This is just some of the wonderful things that just a little apple can give us.  We should have an apple a day so we can be healthy and happy.
