Chocolate Chip Cookies

Hi guys, it is that time of year for baking up some cookies, and I have this great Chocolate Chip cookie recipe that I want to share with you. once more.  This is my family go to cookie recipe that we bake each year around this time.

I got this recipe from a cookie book by Sweet Maria’s and it is an awesome cookie book.  I hope you try and enjoy.

Ingredients

½ pound butter, softened

¾ cup sugar

¾ cup brown sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 eggs

2 1/4 cups flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon salt

2 1/2 cups chocolate chips

1 cup walnuts coarsely chopped (optional)

Steps:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
  2. In an electric mixer, on medium speed, cream the butter, sugar, and brown sugar until light. Add vanilla, and eggs.  Mix until well blended.
  3. On low speed, add flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix just until blended.
  4. Stir In chocolate chips and nuts
  5. Drop dough from a teaspoon onto a parchment-lined cookie sheet, spacing cookies 2 inches apart.
  6. Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned.
  7. Remove cookies sheet from the oven. Using a metal spatula, remove cookies from the cookie sheet and place on a wire cooling rack.  Cool on wire racks.  Store cookies in an airtight container.
