Restaurant Style Salsa

Advertisements

I have had lots of salsa from jars, restaurants and this is by far the best I have made.  There is nothing like having something home-made.  This recipe took less than 15 minutes to make, and the ingredients are simple.

Of course you can use fresh tomatoes for this recipe, but I wanted to show you that can tomatoes work just as well.

I do love making food from scratch as much as I can. It not only saves me money, but it also tastes much better. This is also great when you’re looking for a snack because it only takes minutes to make.

This salsa is easy to make for last minute friends coming over, grill outs and pot lucks. You can never go wrong with bringing salsa to a party.

Equipment

  • 1 blender

Ingredients

  • 1 can whole tomatoes
  • 1 15 oz can diced tomatoes
  • 1 tsp salt or to taste
  • 1/3 tsp sugar
  • 1 med onion chopped
  • 1 bunch of cilantro
  • 2 to 3 jalapeños
  • 1 juice of lime
  • 3 to 4 cloves of garlic

Instructions

  • Using a food processor add in chopped onion and the garlic cloves.  Then add in the jalapeño with seeds removed.  Note:  When working with the jalapeño use plastic gloves.   Chop these up in the food processor until finely chopped.
Add in the cilantro, both cans of tomatoes, sugar and salt.  Chop until all chunks are in small pieces.
Then add in the lime juice and mix again.
Pour into an air tight container and store

Notes

You can use fresh tomatoes for this recipe as well.

Doesn’t that look delicious. You can add in as many jalapeños as you would like for heat factor. You can also use fresh tomatoes if you prefer.

I also have a video on my channel for this recipe, so go check it out and hit subscribe while you are there.
