Easy Homemade French Bread

Hi Guys, here is a recipe that I found on Pinterest for some easy bread. I have been looking for a good bread recipe that is easy and I can use my bread machine with.

This recipe comes from livingonadime.com and this is such a good easy bread recipe. I did some modifications to it so I can use my bread machine. This came out so good. My family loved this bread and was very easy to make.

Easy Homemade French Bread

Prep Time 2 hours 30 minutes
Cook Time 25 minutes
Course Side Dish
Cuisine French, Italian

Equipment

  • bread Machine
  • Oven

Ingredients
  

  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 tbsp yeast
  • 1 egg beaten for top of bread
  • 2 tbsp milk for top of bread

Instructions
 

  • Bread Machine
    Add the ingredients in the order for bread machine.
    Put it on the dough cycle #8
    Once done then remove from bread machine and let rise 1 1/2 hours in an greased bowl with a clean towl over the bowl.
    Punch down the dough and divide in half. Then roll out each half on a flour surface into a log, and let rise one more time for about 45 minutes to 1 hour.
    Whisk egg and milk together for topping.
    Cut a few slits on top of each loaf and then brush the milk and egg mixture on each.
    Bake in oven for 25 minites at 375.
