Smothered Pork Chops

This is a dish that aims to please. This dish considered as southern comfort food and it is. This is a one pan dish and easy to make.

Ingredients are simple to put together. You can coat your pork chops with flour or don’t. It still comes out tasting great. Just fry the pork chops up until golden brown put in the rest of the ingredients and cook.

When it’s done cooking you have pork chops smothered in this brown gravy goodness.

This is truly homecoming comfort food. Serve with rice or potatoes.

This is definitely a keeper recipe.

  • 1 Frying Pan
  • 1 Knife
  • 1 cutting board

Ingredients
  

  • 6 pork chops
  • 1 pk onion soup mix
  • 1 can French onion soup
  • 1 medium onion sliced
  • 2 cans mushrooms
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 can water
  • 1 tsp onion powder season meat with
  • 1 tsp garlic powder season meat with
  • pepper to taste
  • oil for frying
  • 2 tbsp flour

Instructions
 

  • Start by seasoning the chops with the garlic powder, onion powder and pepper so they can marinate.
    Slice 1 medium onion and then set aside. Open the can of cream of mushroom soup and mix in a can of water until combined.
    In a large frying pan on medium heat, and some oil and let it get hot. Then add in the seasoned pork chops and cook on both side until done about 15 to 20. Remove the chops from pan and set aside.
    Now add in the sliced onions and sauté them until lightly browned. Add in the flour and cook for 5 minutes or until the flour is no longer raw. Then start to add in the remaining ingredients can of French onion soup, onion soup mix, mushrooms, and the cream of mushroom mixture. Stir this until well combined. Once that is done add back in the pork chops and cook for 25 to 30 minutes with lid on until pork chops reach 145 Degrees F and 63 C.
    It is now done enjoy
    serve with rice or mashed potatoes
