Making your own burrito bowl at home is so much better. Making them at home allows you to use up any ingredients from your fridge and pantry.
You can customize it to your liking and diet. You can make this vegan, vegetarian and keto. Whatever your preferences are you can choose to make it that way.
There are different components to this dish. To make life easier each of them can be done ahead of time. Like cutting up your protein if using one and marinating overnight. Have the peppers and onions sliced up and ready. By preparing ahead of time, the cook time will be less. It’s all up to you. I do say that this recipe is so worth the preparation. It tastes great and cheaper than takeout.

I have made this several times and I will never order a burrito bowl out again.

The meat was so quick to cook.

I always have beans on hand. I buy dry and cook them myself. I will either freeze them or can them and they taste so much better than the store can ones.

You assemble the bowl in whatever order you want. We put the rice on the bottom and layered from there.
The cilantro lime rice is super easy to make. I used my rice cooker for that. Just add in the lime juice with the water and let the cooker do the rest. When the rice was done we put it in a bowl so we could mix the cilantro in.

For toppings that’s your choice. We did avocado Mexican cream it was so delicious.
