Crockpot Chicken and Gravy

This recipe just screams comfort food. This is such an easy and delicious dish to make. This is truly a dump and go kind of dinner.

The ingredients are simple and it’s easy to put together.

I used my homemade chicken broth which added extra flavor but you use whatever you have on hand. The sauce is simple garlic and onion powder, can of soup and chicken gravy. The mushrooms are optional but they do add to the dish.

You can definitely use whatever seasonings you prefer. There is no wrong way of cooking this.

The convenience of a crockpot meal is that you just dump and leave it to cook. How hard is that I ask.

  • 1 can cream of chicken soup

Instructions

  • Add to crockpot the chicken . Then season with the garlic, onion powder. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Then mix together in a measuring cup the broth, gravy pack and cream of chicken soup until incorporated. Pour the liquid over the chicken in crockpot along with the mushrooms and give it a good mix.
Cook on low 5 to 6 hours or high 3 to 4 hours.
Once chicken is cooked, remove it from crockpot and shred it. Put the chicken back into the crockpot and stir until all the chicken is covered in the gravy. Let it cook 20 to 30 more minutes and it's done.
Serve over rice or mashed potatoes

We paired it with mashed potatoes but you choose the side you prefer.

You can also use whatever part of the chicken you like. It doesn’t have to be white meat. You can use thighs.

This is definitely a recipe that the whole family loves.
