Home Made Shake & Bake

Hi Guys, I finally did it and made my own shake and bake.  This was easy to put together and the chicken came out great.

This recipe only about 5 ingredients and all of which we would have in our pantries.  I made this my chicken two ways to see which would be better.  One way was using Panko bread crumbs and the other way was just with bread crumbs.

The bread crumbs coated the meat a lot better than the Panko but both were equally good. I hope you like and give this recipe a try.

Ingredients:

2 cups bread crumbs

1 ½ tsp. paprika

1 ½ tsp. garlic powder

1 ½ tsp. onion powder

1 tbsp. oil

1 tsp. salt

¼ tsp. pepper

Steps:

Pre-heat oven 375 degrees.

Put the breadcrumbs into a deep dish or pan and then add in the pepper, salt, paprika, garlic powder and onion powder.  Give this a good mix so that all seasonings are well blended.

Then add in the oil and give that a good stir.  The mix will start to get wet and begin to have a wet sand look, but not clumpy.

Wash the chicken well and then coat each piece into the shake & bake mixture.  Once coated well place on a baking sheet lined with foil.  Be sure to spray the foil with a cooking spray so the chicken won’t stick to it.

Place into a 375-degree oven and cook for about 40 minutes or until chicken is full done.

Now for the Panko you do the same thing just changing out the breadcrumbs for the Panko.

This is how the mix looks when all ingredients are incorporated.

This is how is looks after the chicken is coated with the Panko.
