Homemade Guacamole

Making guacamole from scratch is so easy. I forget how easy it really is but yet I still buy store bought guacamole.

To make guacamole at home takes less than 15 minutes to prepare. The ingredients for guacamole is really affordable if you do the math. This recipe costs about $3.00 to make and it has no chemicals to preserve it like store bought does.

The freshness of fresh guacamole is so refreshing and delicious. In the recipe I only used 2 avocados and it made a lot.

Cuisine Mexican
Servings 8

Ingredients

  • 2 avocados ripe
  • 1 medium red onion
  • 1 medium tomato
  • 1 lime extract the juice
  • 1/2 tsp salt or to taste

Instructions

  • Start by dicing the red onion in small pieces as well as the tomato and set aside. For the avocados remove the skin from the avocados and place the peeled avocado in a bowl. Start smashing them with a fork until majority of the lumps are gone.
Then add in the red onion and tomato and mix well. Add salt to taste and the lime juice.
    Its ready to eat.

Notes

Add the seed of one avocado to the guacamole to help keep it from browning.  Stored in airtight container in fridge for 3 days.

It is important that you use juice of a lime to help it from turning brown. I also put the avocado seed in the guacamole which also helps with the browning.

This came out great and didn’t even last 2 days. This was a hit in my home.
