I thank you

I want to start off with saying thank you to anyone who has stopped by my blog even if it was just for a few seconds.
I really appreciate you visiting my site and seeing all the recipes that I cook for my family. As time goes on I am learning more and you will see more improvements. This is a slow process for me but I am getting there.
This is still the beginning for me and hope to keep you coming back. If there is any recipe you would like me to make and post please let me know. I always like trying new foods and ideas.

PWM Week of July 31 thru Aug 6th

Where is the time gone?   We are now moving into August I barely got to enjoy summer.

Here is my layout for the next week.  Its shark attack by SG Stationary.  I love the color of this week’s layout.   It’s simple but very fun.


I also did my monthly layout for August.  I do my monthly printable myself and make it what I want.  I loved the way it came out.  I did this one myself.  I just used some date covers and wash.  It’s not much but this works for me.


Our Meals for the Week

This is the next week’s meals for us. I hope you try some of them and let me know. I will update any recipes that are not added to Main Dishes by the end of this week.

Sunday – Corn Chowder
Monday – Steak Sandwiches with chips
Tuesday – Spinach and Italian sausage pasta
Wednesday – Salisbury steak with mash
Thursday – Chicken soup
Friday – Chicken taco bowl
Saturday – Corn beef and rice (Puerto Rican dish)

My Husband’s T bone Steaks

This is how my husband makes his T bone steaks.  They are so amazingly awesome.
1 to 2 tsp garlic powder (each T-bone)
1 to 2 tsp onion powder (each T-bone)
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (each T-bone)
1 to 2 tsp adobo (each T-bone)
2 tbsp Olive oil
4 T-bones

Heat a cast iron skillet with about 1 or 2 tbsp of olive oil and let the oil get hot. Once the oil is hot put a T-bone in and you should hear a good sizzle.
Let the meat cook for about 10 minutes on each side depending on the thickness of the steak. Remove from skillet and place on a baking sheet line with aluminum foil.
Heat oven at 450 degrees and put the steak into the oven can let them cook for about 10 minutes. Remove from oven and let rest on counter for another 10 minutes.
The steak is done.

Note: If you like the steak to be pinker in the middle, then reduce the cooking time or don’t place steak in the oven for the last 10 minutes.


Bananas is one of my many favorite fruits. Not only are they sweet and yellow, but are extremely healthy for you. Here are some things I found on bananas that I thought I would share with you. I need to go to the store now and buy some bananas.

This is good for keeping your bones healthy. It increases the metabolic activity in your body. This also helps you to heal faster and may lower the risk of a heart attack. Bananas have about 16% of Manganese which is a good source of minerals.
This is something that our bodies have a lot of. There is about 13% of Potassium in a banana which is a great source for putting Potassium in our bodies. Potassium helps our body such as the heart, brain and kidneys. Potassium also keeps the sugar levels in our bodies regulated.     banana peeled
A banana contains about 12% of fiber which is a part of our daily diet. Fiber will help with controlling blood sugar which slows down carbohydrates that break down as sugars. Fiber helps reduce the risk of having a stroke.
Bananas are rich in vitamins C and B6 that all support heart health.
Bananas are also a good source of energy. They contain carbohydrates that are much-needed for energy. This is why they are almost always seen in smoothies, and protein shakes.
Bananas contain levels of tryptophan which is what is also found in turkeys. This helps you to relax and be in a good mood. Bananas has vitamin B which can help with depression. Vitamin B helps take the tryptophan and conserves it to make tryptophan more beneficial to your body.
Bananas can help to lose weight. There was a fad with eating bananas and drinking water helped to lose the inches of your waist. It helps crave your sweet desires and gives you the right number of calories needed for a good daily diet.

Bananas are great for baking. This fruit can be used to remove the bad ingredients in baking like butter, sugar, and margarines. It also has a creamy texture which is also beneficial in baking as a substitute for milk. This is good for those who cannot have dairy products in their diets.
And if this wasn’t enough on how heathy the banana is, then here is another thing about bananas. You can use it for a face mask. Using bananas in a face mask will help with the aging of your skin. Just use a banana, honey and some yogurt. This is amazing don’t you think?




Broccoli Salad

This is a great salad by itself or as a side.  It is loaded with so much goodness and its very tasty .  My family loves when we have this salad.  I found this on Pinterst by


I omit the nuts from the original recipe due to members of my family having allergies.  I also don’t make the dressing that goes with this.  I just use Newman’s raspberry dressing and it taste great.
